Putting together gifts like Easter baskets and Christmas stockings should seriously be a career, because I would kill it in that job. It’s just so fun to curate goody bags for little ones, but before we know it the cost of those baskets or stockings can really start to add up. I managed to keep Blake’s Easter basket pretty minimal this year, and also found great deals while putting together baskets for my friend’s kid’s and my nephews. Here are a few affordable basket ideas that when combined come out to $20 or less!
Flip Flops- $4

I rarely go into Carters because the clothes usually seem overpriced, but the one day I did visit, I found a really great daily deal on flip flops! They were half off at only $4! I grabbed a pair for Blake’s basket and some for his baby bffs as well.
Toothbrush- $2.49

Along with the flip flops, I really wanted to find things that are actually useful as opposed to disposable plastic toys that would lose Blake’s interest in a day or two. A new toothbrush seemed like a great addition to his basket and this one caught my eye since it kind of looked like a carrot!
Fruit- $1

While most Easter baskets are filled with chocolates and marshmallows, my little guy’s allowance of sugar is pretty low considering he’s only 1! So I figured I’d go the easiest, and cheapest route, for snacks and just add some fruit that was already lying around the kitchen. I added a banana and a mandarin orange, which probably came out to less than a dollar.
Teether- $4.99

We actually got this teether last year for Blake’s first Easter and it’s been one of his favorite teethers to date! It’s easy to hold for much smaller babies and the little grooves and nubs feel great on sore gums.
Animal Crackers- $1.59

Animal crackers aren’t for most babies, but my son can eat them like crazy. As far as cookies/desserts go, they’re on the lighter side so I thought he could wild with some in his Easter basket. The box also just looks so darn cute!
Egg Crayons- $5

These are normally $8.49 at Michaels, but with their constant 40% off coupon you can download from their website at anytime, they come out to $5! These are such great beginner crayons for tiny hands. And the egg shape kind of leans into the Easter theme quite well!
Grand Total….. $19.07!

And if you want to splurge that extra seven cents, I say add these bunny ears from Target for one dollar! Sure they probably won’t be used this time next month, BUT the pictures of your little one wearing bunny ears on Easter is well worth the dollar in my opinion!
Happy Easter!
